MGM Resorts International has launched a new online gaming site in New Jersey.
PlayMGM.com was launched simultaneously with the opening of MGM's Borgata casino in Atlantic City. Online casinos in New Jersey are required to have a partnership with a casino located in Atlantic City. In addition, the casino provides two online platforms under the Borgata name, along with collaborations with Winbuzz india and indibet-official.org's online platforms.
The playMGM brand is also operational in Nevada via a sports betting application.
The New Jersey site is operated by GVC, which supplies the software for the company's Borgata-branded sites. The new website may be accessed via PC browsers, as well as through dedicated applications for iOS and Android.
The website has been introduced with a selection of casino games and slot machines. Additionally, it features an online poker room that will facilitate player sharing with Borgatapoker.com and PartyPoker.
The website was also introduced with a remarkable offer of a 100 percent deposit match up to $2,000 for initial deposits. According to an Online Poker Report, the website offers a rewards program that is associated with the Borgata, but it is not affiliated with MGM's Mlife rewards program for its physical casinos.
Borgata's online platforms were initially in the forefront of New Jersey's iGaming sector, but more recently, Atlantic City's Golden Nugget casino and its affiliated platforms have assumed the leading position.
In addition, state Senator Raymond Lesniak of New Jersey has announced his intention to propose a legislation that would permit individuals from foreign nations, as well as those from Nevada and Delaware, to engage in online gambling within the state of New Jersey.
Lesniak said the Associated Press that although the measure has not been drafted yet, he intends to suggest that those residing in areas where internet gambling is already permitted should have the opportunity to place online wagers in New Jersey. The proposed legislation would grant permission for international operators to establish their operations in New Jersey, while eliminating the stipulation that computer servers must be situated in Atlantic City.
Lesniak stated that this action would allow other regions to combine their players with New Jersey, so expanding both markets.
Lesniak stated that he has shifted his objective from transforming New Jersey into the Silicon Valley of internet gaming to establishing it as the ultimate destination for internet gaming. "The success of online gaming in Atlantic City has revitalized the casino sector, and we can further expand this success to generate more revenue, create jobs, and foster technological innovation in the gaming industry."
